06 - Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a lime slice. Serve immediately.

# Expert tips:

01 -
  • It takes ten minutes and uses ingredients you probably already have or can grab on a casual grocery run.
  • The flavor is bright and complex enough to impress guests, but simple enough that even a tired person can pull it off.
  • You're getting all the refreshment of a mojito without the sugar crash or regret that sometimes follows.
02 -
  • Don't over-muddle—I learned this the hard way when I bruised the mint so badly it turned bitter and made an otherwise perfect drink taste wrong.
  • The difference between using cold glasses and room-temperature glasses is enormous; pop them in the freezer for five minutes if you have time.
03 -
  • Use a wooden muddler or the back of a wooden spoon rather than anything metal, which can make the mint taste metallic if you're not careful.
  • If your mint is wilting or bruised when you get it home, soak it in ice water for fifteen minutes before using—it perks right up.
